How Full Figure Shapewear and Firm Shapewear Changed My Life!

Although it may seem weird to you that I talk about slimming apparel a lot, there’s a reason for it. This is a pretty in-depth story. So stay right where you are.

Well, like most American Women, I love Oprah. Who doesn’t She’s an American Icon who made it to where she is by utilizing her mind, her social prowess, and overcoming a huge self esteem issue caused by an obesity issue. It’s only reasonable that someone of her stature would go on to impact children and women in households across America and the world.

So I was a slightly overweight child. OK maybe I wasn’t huge, but when everyone at school was trying to stay under a hundred pounds, my one-hundred and twenty five pound weight definitely made me feel insecure. As a young teenager I avoided pool parties, disco parties, sleep overs, skating rings, school dances, sporting events, etc. Basically I avoided any and all situations which might necessitate wearing an outfit that would stick to my slightly chunky frame.

And thus as young girls were going on their first dates, getting kissed for the first time, and going to school dances I was watching Oprah reruns. Let me tell you- I loved Oprah.

So of course, I was screaming and jumping for joy when I watched an episode of Oprah which had a woman named Sara talking about her brand Spanx! . She’s talking about footless pantyhose, slimming apparel, and much more. So I Google her. And I find the answer to everything I’ve ever wanted- Full Figure Shapewear! I feel as if I’ve found the answer to all my insecurities! As I dedicate the next three hours to scouring the internet for any and all information concerning shapewear, I come across an article which talks about shapewear of the 18th century. In those days it was called the foundation garment and women used to wear it under dresses and ball gowns. Basically the corsets and the brassieres of the 18th century are comparable to today’s firm shapewear. With the grace of God, today’s shapewear is so much more comfortable that brassieres and corsets were. In fact, contrary to popular perception, when I wear Firm Shapewear I don’t feel constricted at all. In truth,I feel free. Forcing me to sit straight at all times, full figure shapewear ensures that I don’ slouch.

And you wouldn’t believe, once I got my confidence, I began to want to look EVEN better. So basically, once I started wearing firm Shapewear, I began to want to push my body to improve. I began to go to the gym regularly. I learned the power of eating healthy, because I had come to respect my body. I stopped drinking alcoholic beverages. I stopped smoking cigarettes. All I needed was that feeling of ‘not worrying’ constantly about my weight. Slimming Apparel did that for me. Once I was comfortable in my clothes I was able to completely transform my lifestyle.

It’s been argues that it wasn’t shapewear, but my love of Oprah’s show that transformed my life. Because if I hadn’t watched Oprah religiously I may have missed that iconic episode where Sara Blakely showed up with her footless pantyhose.

So tell me. What do you think?
