The Real Benefits Of Losing Weight Rapidly

People who have tried to lose weight and failed are in a particularly negative loop. This failure sits in their minds and they fear a repeat of the expereince. The key to getting people to take control of their eating patterns is to get motivation high.

Being in the weight loss business I love it when I am asked how to lose 10 pounds in a week or how to lose a pound a day. It means they already have a sense of urgency. I can move on to the next step. I just have to make it more urgent in their minds and this urgency can sustain them until they see results. When the resulst and rewards become a reality in as little as a few days, their motivation will be fueled. Effort with visible rewards is the greatest motivator by far.

Losing weight slowly is tiresome. Losing weight fast may require a real effort but it is much easier. Being decisive about changing habits is the only way to do it. If you can anticipate results, visible results, in the near future it makes every effort easier. The prospect of short term results is a great motivator.

There is no danger in losing weight fast. I don’t know of anybody who has come to harm by fast weight loss. They come to harm by starvation diets that are unbalanced, not the speed of the weight loss.

The following are some must do’s for fast weight loss:

  • Make sure to drink enough water and get enough sleep.
  • Choose a diet that is aggressive but well balanced.
  • Keep the image of your target uppermost in your mind all the time.
  • Take some vitamin supplements.
  • Know that you will not starve or go hungry. The worst that you will feel is discomfort. The reward for such slight discomfort is enormous.
  • You cannot NOT think about something like food, so focus on something else instead. replace every thought about wrong food with an image of right food associated with your very motivating goal.

Thus avoid slow diets. You will not keep your motivation and will soon fall back into old routines. Make the decision firmly and start immediately. For an overweight person losing the excess is probably the most rewarding thing they can do.
