How To Forgive Yourself – Living A Lifetime Of Freedom

Where are your previous sins? Did you ask God to forgive all of them and have you turned away? If so, your sins are laid to rest at the foot of Jesus cross. Do you know that God doesn’t even recall your sin. God forgetting and recalling no more is practically unbelievable and the only way I know it is true is that God’s word tells me in multiple verses. In one particular verse it tells me He forgets so far as east is from west. That distance just cannot be calculated which is the reason why God used it as a guide. You may determine north to south a result of the north pole and south pole nevertheless east to west cannot be calculated. His word as well tells me He does not recall, I really don’t how we get any clearer.

God’s aspiration is for anyone to forgive yourself and as best you can to not recall your own previous sin. Now for us mortals that is a little more challenging. God sent us the Holy Spirit right after Jesus went to Heaven and He is actually our own comforter and helper. You should call on Him to help you forget your own previous sin.

How do I forgive my previous sins? You will not be forgiving yourself like God has pardoned you but you’re saying if He’s forgiven me then I really should forgive myself. Most of us feel that is difficult. Often times we will forgive somebody else with regard to their sin a lot quicker than we will forgive ourselves. Are we being prideful and putting a higher standard connected with forgiveness on ourself. Do we think we are closer to God than the individual I forgave thus as a consequence of my relationship with God my sin will be a whole lot worse? I would certainly call that prideful that is certainly a sin to God.

I have seen murders forgiven by God and while they will often never totally forget their wrong they know God has forgiven them and they have an option. Forgive themselves and grow closer to God or to live in a place in which they are telling God He is wrong. I have witnessed famous pastors that have committed sin and have asked for forgiveness from God after which they had to forgive themselves.
